Why do players cut their socks? - Grassroots Sports Group

Why do players cut their socks?

Every week we see sports stars on our tv screens with their team socks cut and another pair of socks underneath.

They do this so that they can get the benefit of grip sock technology which their normal team socks don't give them.

Specialised grip socks such as the GSG Grip Socks give players maximum grip in their boots which can aid in dynamic movements and also to prevent injury.

At grassroots level though, it is just not feasible to cut up your team socks each week and that is where the GSG Knee Length range can provide the best of both worlds.

According to FIFA rules "socks – tape or any material applied or worn externally must be the same colour as that part of the sock it is applied to or covers".

Therefore you can get the grip you need while staying within the rules and also not feeling the wrath of your club's kit person.
