Much needed relief for sporting clubs in Victoria
The Victorian Government is providing more support to the community sport sector to help it recover from the pandemic and allow more Victorians to get active.
Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence today announced more than $10 million in grants through the fourth round of the Community Sport Sector COVID-19 Survival Package for 6,591 local associations, leagues and clubs across Victoria.
Clubs will receive grants of $1,500 and local leagues and associations will receive $2,500 to help recoup lost revenue after the cancellation of training, development programs and competitions during the pandemic.
The program also enables grassroots community sports to safely operate, support their members and athletes, and assist in the development of COVIDSafe sports plans.
Recipients of this round of grants include Sunbury Rebels Basketball Club, Bendigo Strikers Cricket Club, Gippsland Soccer League, Wattle Glen Tennis Club, Ballarat Kendo Club, Nhill Golf Club, Hockey Albury Wodonga, Lilydale Sailing Club andMount Macedon Petanque Club.
